MT. KAPAYAS

The Municipality of Catmon claimed it is the second tallest peak of cebu and is a home to various kinds of plants, such as wild orchids, and animals. Once on the top, one can see the magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding places as far a Negros and Leyte. One of the natural attractions of Mt. Kapayas are Lumanoy Cave for spelunking and Mamig Falls in barangay Cabangkaya, this hidden falls provides an ideal destination for adventurous nature trekkers and wildlife.

Sibulan - Mount Apo Trail

History revealed that the year 1880 marked the first successful climb to Mount Apo through the Sibulan Trail of Sta. Cruz in Davao del Sur by a group led by Don Joaquin Rajal. Trekking along the trail will be highlighted with an assault via Boulder Face going to the summit of the country's highest peak.

Lake Danao

Lake Danao is a guitar-shaped lake on the island of Leyte, Philippines in the province of Leyte.

The lake is covering an area of 148 hectares (370 acres). It is situated in the 2,193 hectares (5,420 acres) Lake Danao National Park, which also includes the Amandiwin mountain range. The lake is 18 kilometres (11 mi) northeast of Ormoc City, half an hour drive along the San Pablo - Tongonan and Milagro - Lake Danao roads.
It was originally named "Lake Imelda" and was declared a national park on June 2, 1972 by virtue of presidential memorandum issued by then President Ferdinand Marcos. Later it was renamed and declared as Lake Danao National Park on February 3, 1998 through Proclamation No. 1155 and is now protected by Republic Act No. 7586 otherwise known as the National Integrated Protected Area System (NIPAS) Act of 1992.[1] The lake supplies potable water to at least seven towns in Eastern Leyte including Tacloban City[2] as well as the source of irrigation for ricelands in some municipalities like Dagami, Burauen, Pastrana and Tabon-tabon.
At 650 metres (2,130 ft) above sea level, Lake Danao lies on an altitude similar to Tagaytay, making the area cooler than the average Philippine temperature.

Kidapawan ‘lumad’ (Tribal-Cultural Experience) at AGCO

The Kadayawan takes its roots from the lumad of Kidapawan, then the capital town of the province of North Cotabato, according to a research document made by Felipe A. Bansag, chair of the Tribal Filipino Association of the Philippines (Tricap).
Among those who also traced the history were Quimpo S. Subuan, representative of the Tricap-Calinan District Executive Council and Datu Maximo B. Gabao, the tribal deputy mayor of the Guiangan Bagobo tribe.
Since 1975, the lumad in Kidapawan, through the Mindanao Highlanders Association (Mindahila), celebrated the Kalibongan Festival. It was also the time when leaders and members of different indigenous groups gather.
Headed by Datu Joseph Sibug, Mindahila sought the permission of Respicio, then the designated mayor of Davao, for the tribal gathering to be held in Davao.
Kalibongan was then changed to the Apo Duwaling Festival. Apo was to stand for Mount Apo, while Duwaling was to represent durian and waling-waling.

SINULOG FESTIVAL

The word Sinulog comes from the Cebuano adverb sulog which roughly means "like water current movement;" it describes the forward-backward movement of the Sinulog dance. The dance consists of two steps forward and one step backward, done to the sound of drums. The dance is categorized into Sinulog-base, Free-Interpretation. Candle vendors at the Basilica continue to perform the traditional version of the dance when lighting a candle for the customer, usually accompanied by songs in the native language.
The Sinulog dance steps are believed to originate from Rajah Humabon's adviser, Baladhay. It was during Humabon's grief when Baladhay was driven sick. Humabon ordered his native tribe to bring Baladhay into a room where the Santo Niño was enthroned, along with the other pagan gods of the native Cebuanos. After a few days passed, Baladhay was heard shouting and was found dancing with utmost alertness. Baladhay was questioned as to why was he awake and shouting. Pointing to the image of the Santo Niño, Baladhay explained that he had found on top of him a small child trying to wake him and tickling him with the midrib of the coconut. Greatly astonished, he scared the child away by shouting. The little child got up and started making fun of Baladhay. In turn, Baladhay danced with the little child and explained that he was dancing the movements of the river. To this day, the two-steps forward, one-step backward movement is still used by Santo Niño devotees who believe that it was the Santo Niño's choice to have Baladhay dance...

Villa Teresita Resort

Villa Teresita Resort is located in Biasong, Talisay City, Cebu. To those of you who don’t know this, Talisay City is just the next city to the south of Cebu City. The fastest way to get there would be via private transport or taxi cabs. However, you also have the options of taking public transportations such as buses, V-hires and jeepneys. Buses and jeepneys don’t actually go inside the long street that will lead you to Villa Teresita. Tricycles do. So if you do plan on taking the bus, jeep or V-hire, make sure you don’t bring along lots of things.

Kalanggaman is a small island paradise with a land area of about two hectares situated between north of Cebu and Leyte. Belonging to the town of Palompon, Leyte, it is about an hour ride by boat either from Palompon or Villaba,Leyte.

Lake Venado is an endorheic lake located at the foot of Mount Apo in the province of North Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines. It is the highest lake in the country, found in coordinates 7°00′8″N 125°16′10″E,with an estimated surface elevation of 7,200 feet (2,194 m above sea level). The lake is fed by local run-off and there is no outflow from the lake. The lake usually loses two-thirds of its size during dry months due to evaporation.

The name of the lake comes from the Spanish word "venado", which means "deer," owing to the deer-like shape of the lake.However, the local people living in the area called the lake "linaw", a Cebuano term for "clear", because the water of the lake is crystal-clear reflecting the peak of Mount Apo. The lake is believed to be enchanted by spirits living in the lake, according to the local tribes people.

The vicinity of the lake is a popular camping site for Filipino mountaineers en route to and coming down from the peak of Mount Apo, the Philippines' highest mountain. In 2007, a Filipino mountaineer coming down from the peak of Mount Apo, drowned in the lake.

Mt. Talinis/Cuernos de Negros is classified by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology as a potentially active volcano forming part of the Negros Volcanic Belt. Andesite and basalt are the most abundant rocks found on the mountain. With a base diameter of 36 kilometres (22 mi), the volcanic complex is compose of several volcanic cones and peaks, the most prominent of which are Talinis, Cuernos de Negros, Guinsayawan, Yagumyum Peak and Guintabon Dome. The mountain range is very fumarolic with several solfataras and steam vents located on its slope that it is harnessed to generate electricity. The Southern Negros Geothermal Production Field in Palinpinon generates 192.5 MW.

Mayon Volcano, also known as Mount Mayon, is an active volcano in the province of Albay, on the island of Luzon in the Philippines. Renowned as the "perfect cone" because of its almost symmetric conical shape, Mayon forms the northern boundary of Legazpi City, the largest city in terms of population in the Bicol Region. The mountain is a national park and a protected landscape in the country proclaimed as Mayon Volcano Natural Park in the year 2000.
Local folklore refers to the volcano as Bulkang Magayon (Bikol: 'Beautiful Volcano'), after the legendary heroine Daragang Magayon (Bikol: 'Beautiful Lady').

Mayon Volcano is the main landmark of Albay Province, Philippines, rising 2,462 metres (8,077 ft) from the shores of the Gulf of Albay about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) away.The volcano is geographically shared by the cities and municipalities of Legazpi City, Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan, Ligao City, Tabaco City, Malilipot, and Santo Domingo (clockwise from Legazpi) which divide the cone like slices of a pie when viewed from above.
